On Friday, June 15th, the outdoor classroom was filled with guests and deserving students alike, as we presented our year end awards, recognition and goodbyes. What a perfect afternoon it was. Food was supplied by our local TGP grocery store, and Strategic Oilfield. We were very grateful for the use of the tent from Spirit of the North School. It helped keep everyone comfortable in the shade.
Merit and academic awards were presented. Leadership from two of our local First Nations bands were available to recognize their graduates, Beaver First Nation, and Little Red River Cree Nation. Metis Nation of Alberta, Region 6 presented their traditional sash to our Metis graduates.
All graduates received certificates from their MLA Debbie Jabbour, MP Chris Warkentin, and our Alberta Outreach Council President, Elliot Bessey. School Board Trustee, Marc Beland, and Superintendent, Mike McMann presented these, along with the exclusive Learning Store school Graduate pins.
It was a proud day for our staff, our students, and our school community. We look forward to seeing you all next year.
